The Baby Fat Diet

You might hate me for saying this, but I have no baby fat...or any fat for that matter. When I was pregnant, I was told that I looked like I had merely swallowed a grape. After I gave birth to my eight pound son, any "fat" that may have been present was completely gone within two weeks. And it's been that way ever since. So now you may be asking, what business do I have reading a book called The Baby Fat Diet?

I honestly don't know why I've been so lucky in the weight department, because I certainly don't watch my weight and never have. Even though I was a ballerina for years, I always ate whatever I wanted and would watch my friends struggle - they ate salads while I ate french fries. That said, let me tell you why I loved reading The Baby Fat Diet.

The book doesn't give you a specific "diet" to follow; rather, it's more of a guide to eating healthy and getting the most out of your life. The downside to being able to eat whatever I want, is that I end up eating a lot of things that don't provide the best source of energy for me. With a kid as hyper as mine, I can't afford to be tired all the time (which most of the time, I am). What I learned from this book, is that there are wholesome foods that give you plenty of energy so that you can go about your day without feeling bogged down. I never really paid attention to nutrition or food groups before, but this was an eye opener for me. Who knew that by eating certain foods I could extend my life and feel good all day long?

I loved how the chapters are short, chock full of great tips, and don't need to be read in any particular order. Just open the book to any page and dig in! I appreciated the sample menus included and the tips for grocery shopping. Seriously, I think anybody (including men) could benefit from reading this book, whether you're looking to lose weight or not. For more information and to purchase a copy, go here. I'm keeping this one handy so that I can refer to it at all times!

  1. I love how you did the review of the diet book after the cookbook review! LOL! They both sound great, though-I'll have to look into them! :-)

  2. Hmmm...sounds promising. I think I've gotten better over the years, but no where near a nutrition understanding I should have!
