Curious? Check This Out!

I've always considered myself to be a rather curious person. When I was younger I used to have questions about everything - luckily, my mother always seemed to have the answers, no matter how ridiculous the question were. I wonder now whether she made some of the answers up to satisfy me, or whether she really is that smart. My guess is, she really is that smart. On a recent trip to the zoo, it was a unusually cold day (for San Diego) and I questioned whether the animals, being outside all day long, got cold as well. I wonder if my mom would have an answer to that. Better yet, maybe I should pose my question to Curiosity Quest.

Curiosity Quest is family oriented television program that explores what viewers are curious about. It's fun, upbeat and each episode features the host Joel, as he ventures on different quests in search of answers to viewer's letters of curiosity. Previous quests have included everything from making candy, to go-kart racing to recycling.

I was sent two episodes for my viewing pleasure - Sanitary Landfill and Steinway & Sons. Both were informative and I loved how they were unscripted and genuine. Both episodes had "fun facts" sprinkled throughout, and I really enjoyed learning new things For example, did you know that it takes almost an entire year to make a piano? Fascinating! Pop quiz: is the piano a string or a percussion instrument? I also appreciated the importance place on recycling. I was unaware of all the things that happen to trash that doesn't get recycled. These were fun, lighthearted episodes that would be perfect to watch with the whole family. Plus, they're educational - my favorite kind!

Learn more about upcoming quests and be sure to check whether Curiosity Quest airs in your state!

  1. I think it would be fun to dicover more about the Earth's oceans. I think we put too much emphasis on exploring outer space. Look at all the places here on our planet that we know so little about...
