San Diego Saturday

Welcome to San Diego Saturday! Updated as needed, this column is where I'll provide info about noteworthy events, attractions and fun things to do around town.

All right San Diegans, here's an awesome website for you to check out: BuyWithMe is where you can score some amazing deals for restaurants, activities, spas, you name it! The site is based on the concept of social buying, meaning that people work together to lock-in great deals using a power in numbers approach. Each day there's a new deal posted and it's available for a limited amount of time. If enough people create an account and sign up for the deal, the deal is on. If, however there aren't enough people signed up by the deadline the deal is off and you won't be charged.

Just last week I scored a great deal for Kidventures, a fairly new and fabulous indoor play center in Pacific Beach. Normal admission is $12, but BuyWithMe's deal was two admissions for only $12! That was too good to pass up, so I quickly created an account, signed up and a day later enough people had done the same thing and so the deal was on! I printed out my voucher and I'm now looking forward to taking my son to Kidventures not once, but twice!

They've got some great deals going on right now, like $22.50 for a Stand Up Paddleboard Lesson and Tour (50% savings.) You can also get $40 worth of food at Busalacchi's on Fifth for only $20, and over 50% savings at Pilates United in La Jolla. Be sure to take advantage next week, when they unveil a never-before-seen 50% discount on golf packages with instruction by Torrey Pines golf pros. You'll also be able to save up to 50% on exclusive deals for Spring Water, Reflexology Massage and a soothing foot bath at Numero Water Boutique in Little Italy. There's always something new, so be sure to bookmark the site and nab those deals while they're hot!

  4. That Kidventures place looks SO fun. You should take your camera with you and post a "review" afterward. :)
