So, I guess it's not really a "secret", because I told all of you this past weekend about the Point Loma Nazarene University annual Fall Festival. What I don't think a lot of people realize however, is how truly spectacular it is. After all, there are so many fall festivals and events going on this time of year and this is just another one, right? Wrong!
First of all, it's located on a beautiful ocean front campus. Second, it's got a great community feel and is not overly crowded. And third, it's all free. Here's a look at what we did:
We got there right when it opened and waited in a short line for a llama ride. Llamas are so cute!
Then we went to the petting zoo and Bean also got to ride a pony.
This year they went all out food-wise, with the first ever "Taste of Point Loma." In addition to the usual offerings from the Bartell Hotel's group, they had delicious samples of food from local restaurants such as Charlie's Best Bread, Chick Fil-A, Oggi's, Sammy's Woodfired Pizza, Baron's, and Point Loma Cafe.
Here's another look at the fabulous food area.
There were numerous exhibitor booths and vendors along the walkways. There was also a rock wall, bounce houses, a craft area and storytime area.
We finished our day with the free pumpkin patch. Plenty of pumpkins to choose from and all a good size, too! This is the one event that I will be sure to make it to each year. If you missed it this year, keep an eye out for next year's fall festival!
Once the secret gets out, it will get crowded quickly because there's no room for expansion.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting about this. We went for the first time and loved it. We will for sure remember about this next year.
