This past weekend, thanks to MomSelect my little family got to experience HalloweenTime at Disneyland. The timing couldn't have been better - five years ago my husband and I honeymooned at Disneyworld in Florida. Going to Disneyland was the best way to celebrate our anniversary and we also got to take our 18 month old son with us.
Highlights of our trip included our favorite breakfast spot River Belle Terrace, Woody's Halloween Roundup, and of course the rides. My son went crazy for the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage ride and was fascinated by The Haunted Mansion. He also loved Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin, Tarzan's Treehouse, and the Disneyland Railroad. The pumpkin patch and petting zoo at Woody's Halloween Roundup were absolutely charming.
The best part was getting to experience Disneyland through my son's eyes. I'd been to the park before, but never with my son and this time there was no rushing towards the big rides. Instead, we watched him stare at the ducks in the pond. He spent time with the animals at the petting zoo. We took a break and let him play at the playground in Mickey's ToonTown for a while. As his face lit up during the parade, we knew he was feeling the magic of Disneyland...and so were we.
I LOVE DISNEYLAND! How exciting to be able to take your little boy there and see things through his eyes. I recently went with some girl friends of mine, and kept thinking that I can't wait until I can come back with Ava.
ReplyDelete"fascinated," or "fell asleep" in the Haunted Mansion?
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous! My favorite family memory is when we celebrated Eleri's 6th birthday at Disneyland. The joy on El's face when Aerial looked down at her blew a kiss from her parade float brought tears to my eyes. Thankfully I had a camera and snapped a shot at the right second. Pure joy on my child's face....priceless.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I would LOVE the DVD "My Imagination Flies!" I had not purchased it yet, but was planning to after pay day. Do you want some $$$ for it?
I'm glad you guys had a great time! We had a blast, too. Too bad we couldn't meet up - maybe next time! :0)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so fun! I'm jealous of all you West Coasters who got to go, but I'm so glad you had a nice time. I love when amusement parks get decked out for Halloween. We're going to our local park next weekend for their Halloween festivities.
