Here's my latest discovery: Freeze dried fruits and veggies. At first, I was a little skeptical because it made me think of the Astronaut Ice Cream I used to eat as a kid. Anyone remember that? It was tasty stuff, but a little odd and nowhere near as good as the real thing. My 14 month old son is going through a phase right now where he refuses to eat any fruits unless they are in baby food form, i.e pureed. He refuses to touch anything wet, chunky or slimy, and feeding him with a fork is useless because he wants to eat with his hands. This makes things difficult, especially if we're out and I want him to eat something besides bread and milk. I found these freeze dried fruits and veggies by Gerber (but other companies make them as well.) I decided to try out the apples and see if he would eat them. He loved them! While they are not as healthy as the real thing, they are made from 100% real freeze dried fruits and are the perfect "on-the-go" snack for him. This makes for a convenient option while I continue the battle of feeding him fresh fruit.
Has anyone else tried these? What do you think about them?
Sage and Aurora love them. i first discovered them when Sage was a baby and he ate them all the time, Aurora now loves them too, and Sage still does. They are a staple in our house, and are great for traveling.
ReplyDeleteMy son loved these and the Fruit and Veggie Puffs. There are printable coupons on the Gerber site, as well as a $5 coupon book you get for sending in UPC's. We did this all the time! And I sent some to my mom's address!
