Xeko Mission:China - Review and Giveaway

Xeko Mission:China is the latest title in this award winning series of collectible card games. Some of my favorite games to play are card games, so I was excited to check this one out. The starter set arrived in a stunning pagoda box and included the following goodies:

40 cards for a 2-player game
1 Hotspot card
2 limited-edition sketch cards
Cool playmat with China eco-map on the back
Rulebook and giant learn-to-play cards
Additional rules for up to 4 players

Already I was drooling, and I hadn't even opened the box yet! Basically, the game is an introduction to threatened species and the world's conservation "hotspots." By playing it, we learn about China's ecosystems and meet the endangered species that live in them. The cards are absolutely gorgeous and include animals such as the beloved Giant Panda, critically endangered Snow Leopard, and ferocious King Cobra. They smell pretty good, too! Each card also includes brief descriptions and facts about the animal shown, which are interesting to read. I was expecting a bit of learning curve, since I've never actually played a collectible card game before. The giant learn-to-play cards included along with the playmat were extremely helpful in teaching the ins and outs of the game. It seems like one of those games that is easy to learn, but at the same time challenging. There's a lot of opportunities to use strategy, and I like how you can collect cards from other titles to build your ultimate deck. I'm looking forward to playing more of this game with my family as it's fun and educational - a winning combination!

For more information and to see a demo of the game, check out www.xeko.com.

  6. I love fact they care about the earth
Xeko is dedicated to a bright green future and preserving some of our planet's greatest riches — biodiversity and ecosystems around the world. Our world is an interconnected wonder — the air, water, land, plants, animals, and human-made things create our environment and are directly connected. What occurs in one part of the world impacts the balance and health of our entire planet.

Since by now you probably know that you need a healthy environment for your own health and happiness, you can understand why being a good steward of our Earth is so important to YOU and everyone else.
    It's easy being green:

    * Practice the 3 Rs — Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
    * Help Xeko recycle and earn Green Stars by recycling Xeko booster packs
    * Learn about the hotspots and Xeko's hotspot conservation partner, Conservation International
    * Get involved with local clubs and learn more about sustainable living

  8. Why do we call some animals pets and others dinner?

You cannot be a meat eating environmentalist.

  9. I like that it encourages children to think about the environment and ecology while they're playing a game. Perhaps they will learn to be better stewards as they grow.
