It all started with this magazine: walking into the bookstore one day last month, I was innocently perusing the magazines when I spotted one called Disney twenty-three. Now, I know you're not supposed to judge a book, or in this case a magazine by its cover, but this one was gorgeous so naturally I picked it up. Of course it was shrink wrapped so I couldn't even thumb through it but I had a feeling this was something special, even at the somewhat hefty price tag of $15.95. So I told hubby I wanted it for Christmas. Hubby did one better and purchased a D23 membership for me.
D23 is Disney's first official community for fans. It's named in honor of the year 1923, when Walt Disney founded what would become the Disney Studios. What does a membership include? Well, turns out that I get a one-year subscription to the D23 magazine (four issues) which apparently is a collectible magazine, filled with stunning photography, dazzling illustrations and the ultimate Disney insider perspective, a membership card and certificate, a member gift, special member events, and access to exclusive merchandise. And all for about the same price as buying four issues of the magazine would have cost. I gotta say, I'm pretty excited. I'm still waiting for something to show up in the mail and I'm waiting in eager anticipation.
Is anyone else out there a member of D23? What do you think about it?
Your right, it is a gorgeous cover! I have never heard of the magazine before, you will have to update us on what you think about it!
