"Rock" the Cradle

Sometimes I like to fall asleep while listening to music. Lately, it's been to The Beach Boys and Guns 'N Roses. Yep, that's right...the tunes are soothing, and relax and calm me because they're actually lullaby renditions by Rockabye Baby! The concept is genius: timeless rock songs are transformed into beautiful instrumental lullabies. Instead of heavy drums and guitar, you get soothing mellotrons, vibraphones and bells. I've never been a huge fan of rock music, but I do enjoy some of the tunes, which makes these CDs a perfect match for me!

Lullaby Renditions of The Beach Boys features great hits like "Surf's Up" and "Wouldn't It Be Nice". I love how the fun loving spirit of The Beach Boys isn't lost, but yet it's a refreshing change of pace too. Definitely a fun one to listen to. I was pleasantly surprised by the new addition of Lullaby Renditions of Guns 'N Roses. I've never actually listened to the band before - their music is a little too "hard" for my taste I guess, but I could listen to this CD all night. I did recognize a couple of the songs, including "Paradise City" which sounds great on here.

Now, you'll notice that the company's name is Rockabye Baby! - meaning that the CDs are actually meant to be for babies but from my experience, just about anybody can enjoy this music. I play it for my toddler all the time and he really seems to enjoy it. I'm especially pleased, because I'm not impressed with a lot of the"kiddie" music out there. This is something that we can both enjoy together!

  2. I love their music! I already own a copy of the Green Day & Tool versions of Rockabye Baby! I didn't know there was a new album out, though, so if I'm not as lucky as would be hoped, I will head BACK over to their website & pick up a copy of GnR!

Thank you for the contest, and the exposure to Rockabye Baby's music!

  43. Guns N Roses is #1 with all my kids, but another one they picked was Green Day. My Chubby-huggy is familiar with the real GNR tunes because her brothers play guitar, so she would love to hear this at nap time!
