Blueberry Cake

This past Memorial Day, we drove out to the Temecula Berry Company for a little blueberry picking! I fondly remember going strawberry picking as a child, and I wanted Bean to have the same experience. Of course, as luck would have it, my camera battery died right as we arrived and so I didn't get any pictures of him picking the berries. He loved it, though. And I did manage to snap one picture at the entrance:

We picked two pints and once we got home I asked around for good blueberry recipes. I received a ton of great suggestions, but here is what I ended up making tonight after dinner:

Blueberry cake! This afternoon I had to run across the street to the grocery store and buy a round cake pan, because I didn't have one. So yes, this is My First Cake. Here is the recipe that I used. It actually came out pretty well and is especially delicious when paired with Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream!

Yum...I hope you all had a wonderful holiday as well!

  4. I didn't know there was a berry farm close by. I remember picking strawberries, apples, and pumpkins as a kid from farms and orchards near my hometown. The cake looks yummy :)
