During my constant search for all things "kawaii", I was pleasantly surprised to discover a new Sanrio Surprises location in San Diego! It's in Kearny Mesa, and shares a space with Marukai Value Plus (formerly known as Daiso). I was already in love with Marukai because it's basically like a Japanese dollar store which is totally awesome. But THIS...well, this just brings it to a whole new level.The store itself has been open for a few months but I didn't know this until Easter weekend, which also happened to be their grand opening event.

Love this! It's a "toaster" with paper that looks like toast. The lever on the side really makes the paper pop out!

I think this is going to be my regular Sanrio stop from now on. Hello Kitty and Marukai Value - it doesn't get much better than that!
Oh I went here the week before the "grand opening" Saw it while driving somewhere else and made the future husband do a u-turn/detour so I could check it out. I really wanted to go to the grand opening, but couldn't. I'm excited we have a new Sanrio store.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a chance to make it out to the grand opening! I have yet to post any pics with HK yet...I probably should. I'm so behind. Anyway, I also love Marukai Value and yes, having Sanrio there makes it much more interesting...although we'll probably end up spending more too ;)
