If you're like me and have problems organizing your things you'll want to check out the products from Perfect Curve. They make it easy to organize those items which seem to create the most mess, such as purses, shoes, laundry, baseball caps and belts. In fact, I just took everything out of our stuffed closet today, and was amazed at the amount of junk we have. And then I realized that we don't have anywhere to put said junk, which is why the closet got so messy in the first place.
Perfect Curve got me started, however, with the Sports Rack and the Hamper Rack. We don't really have much sports equipment, but I thought it was the perfect place to store my toddler's playground balls and other outdoor toys. It came with two large mesh bags, but we opted to only hang one so that he couldn't get to it and create an even bigger mess. I love the over the door feature. It's easy to hang and it's convenient for when we need to grab something out of it. No more searching in multiple areas for different things - everything is right there in one spot for when you need it. I also didn't see much difference between the Sports Rack and the Hamper Rack besides the color, so you could probably both sets of bags for multiple purposes.
The Hamper Rack was something we truly needed. Dirty laundry tends to find it's way to the floor pretty quickly and pretty soon you're swimming in it. Ever since we got the Hamper Rack though, things have been better. It's almost difficult to throw clothes on the floor when the hamper bag is right there on the door. For this one, we did use both bags and it has been a lifesaver!
One slight problem I had at first was with the bags slipping down when they got a little weight in them. I solved this, however, by placing a metal binder clip directly below where you hang the bag. That way, it stops the bag from slipping - a cheap, simple solution and now I have no problems whatsoever.
Check out Perfect Curve for more information about additional products and to get organized!

My best organizing tip is to organize your things like you think. For example, keep things near where you are when you use them so that it will make sense and the system will work.
ReplyDeleteIf I follow a book exactly, it won't work because their systems don't necessarily work for the way I think and act. It's best to modify it to yourself.
It only took me 40 years to figure that out.

I've been terrible at being organized lately. I did go out and buy a day planner, though, and that's been helping! :-)

Keep a basket in each room to put things in that don't belong there so they can be returned.
ReplyDeleteI made a small investment in a Brother Label machine -- I use it to label everything. It is so much easier to find everything now!
ReplyDeletebaskets by each door so I can collect and put their things by bedroom door..also toss catalogs and mail as it comes in
ReplyDeleteI use tote bags hung on my wall to organize my craft projects.

I bought some of those stand up magazine holders from IKEA. I put them near my phone in my kitchen and use them to hold bills, kids papers from school, recipes, etc. Piles of paper drive me crazy and I can keep it organized this way.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!

Totes, plastic drawers, paper clips, and wall shelves are the most handy things that I use all over my house to organize in every room. Totes are good for storing, plastic drawers keep everything in place from the office, to the kids bed room, paper clips are self-explanitory and wall shelves can be used everywhere for anything, from the pantry, to the garage.
ReplyDeleteThanks!! Keeping fingers crossed!!

I keep a tall plastic hamper in the bathroom(Where all the dirty clothes accumulate) and one in the laundry room for clean washed, dried and sorted clothes. When its full (either hamper) my husband carries it to the other room.
ReplyDeleteI love organization! I have racks for the kids to put their school things when they come in from school. I like to label my tubs. My pantry is organized so I know what I have on hand. If everything has its place then its easier to find. Thank you for the chance!

We need this for all our soccer stuff. The garage needs some serious organizing.
ReplyDeleteThe only organizing tip I have that I actually do is to go through the mail everyday and recycle junk and deal with the rest asap otherwise you'll end up with a huge pile at the end of the week. thanks, justicecw@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteThis would be handy in my laundry room.
ReplyDeleteFor getting organized, I don't know what I would do without my eraser board, it reminds me of appointments, etc.
Always put these in the same place. Especially your purse and keys. No more searching.
ReplyDeleteWe have Soccer, Ballet and Swim. This would come in handy. Thanks for the chance.

My BEST organizing tip??? The Salvation Army! If we have more than we need or the room to keep it, let someone less fortunate enjoy... ;)

My best organizing tip is to only have out what you use on a daily basis, otherwise, organize it into "kits" and place it somewhere for another day.
ReplyDeleteMine is pretty simple, but it works for me - I have set days that I do certain things. i.e. bills on monday, dust and vacuum on tuesday, etc. trinitygsd at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteJUST RIGHT FOR MY GODSON TOYS THAT NEED TO ORGANIZED
ReplyDeleteMy best organizing tips are to put things back right away and if you don't need it throw it away or donate it!
ReplyDeleteput things away as you use them
ReplyDeletetip- in the garage use color coded bins to organize different things, like one bin or huge garbage can for sporting goods, another for kids toys, another for gardeningtools and so on.

I live in a small condo with my son so without some organization, this place would be a disaster. We utilize space everywhere, plastic containers for our shoes under the bed, containers for off season clothes in the closets, and not going crazy when it's not in exactly the right place all the time!

I love to be organized but I have to admit that I am not always as organized as I wish I was. I do tend to once a week get rid of clutter. I keep my shredder right next to my front door and when I get junk mail I immediately shred it and then put it outside in the trash can. I also have a giant erase board in the kitchen and smaller ones in the other rooms. That way when I think of something I can write it on any board at any time.
ReplyDeleteI use different sized baskets to organize books, cds, and clothing.

i use lots of bins to try to get organized
ReplyDeleteIt's taken me years to realize this - but our secret rule* for being and staying organized* is that everything you have in your home should have a home of it's own: that is - everything should have a place it belongs (when it is put away in it's proper place.)
ReplyDelete*NOTE*
We do not always follow our own *secret rule* !!!
I follow your blog
ReplyDeleteMy best organizing tip is to only have one of each item No one needs 5 potato mashers or can openers When you buy something new always get rid of something. lezanac@yahoo.com
ReplyDeletePut each item back where it belongs after you're done using it :)
ReplyDeleteMy best organzing tip is to get rid of all your junk ::grin::
ReplyDeleteMy tip would be for organization in the kitchen .. stack your plastic lids under the plastic containers that match so you always keep them together cause you know how easy it is to loose them if they aren't close at hand.
