Log Cabin Syrup - New and Improved

My husband makes a mean batch of pancakes. In fact, one of my favorite meals is bacon (cooked by me), eggs (cooked by either one of us), and his terrific pancakes. Of course, you can't eat pancakes without syrup...homemade syrup is excellent, but I'm usually too lazy to make it. Therefore, I've scoured the grocery aisles over the years and come to the conclusion that Log Cabin makes the best tasting syrup out there.

Recently, I've been reading more about the concerns of high fructose corn syrup. I always knew this was not a healthy ingredient, but lately I just keep hearing more and more about it. When I heard about the reformulation of the Log Cabin syrup line, it was great news to me. Log Cabin has now replaced the high fructose syrup with real sugar!

Last Saturday, hubby treated us to breakfast with a batch of his famous pancakes. This was the perfect opportunity to try the new syrup. First, I ate a pancake with the regular Log Cabin syrup (with high fructose corn syrup.) It was delicious, but I felt a little guilty and unhealthy afterwards. Then I ate one with the reformulated syrup. It had a slightly thinner texture and actually tasted a little sweeter, but it was essentially the same. And I felt a whole lot better about myself afterward. To learn more about Log Cabin and the reformulation, visit the website here.
